RCIC, formerly known as the Construction Design Consultancy Enterprise under the Railway Construction Joint Stock Company, was established on 18 August 2004 pursuant to Decision No. 1172/QĐ-ĐS-TCCB-LĐ of the Vietnam Railways Corporation.

Over more than 20 years of establishment and development, RCIC has gradually established its position as one of the reputable consulting firms in the field of transport infrastructure, with particular expertise in railway and urban railway development in Vietnam.

In 2007, with a strategic focus on investment and construction consultancy, the Construction Design Consultancy Enterprise was officially transformed into the Railway Construction and Investment Consultant Joint Stock Company (RCIC).
